When we first started, we used a supplemental feed that was completely free of corn and soy. It aligned perfectly with our values and what we were looking for in our own diets. Unfortunately, the cost made it difficult to sustain without enough consistent demand, and to be honest, the chickens were not a fan of the food!

Our chickens are wonderfully free-ranging, which we love, but because of that, we can’t always guarantee they’re getting the consistent calcium and nutrients they need for strong, healthy eggs. That’s where supplemental feed comes in.

We’re always looking for ways to better serve our community, and if there’s enough interest, we’d love to offer a dedicated corn- and soy-free option again.

If you’re interested, join our list below! Once we have enough people committed to 8–10 cartons per week, we’ll set aside a special group of hens in our large fenced garden and feed them a strictly corn- and soy-free diet. These corn + soy free cartons will be about $10-12 a carton.
